In constant dialogue with like-minded artists, Fondazione Teatro Due has always been opposed to the simplification of thought, reaffirming the political role of theatre in the firm belief that artists are important interpreters of the processes of change taking place in the present. The 2025 programme of the Teatro Festival Parma offers insights into the creative experiences of some of the most interesting artists on the international theatre, dance and puppet theatre scene.

After the opening at the Arena Shakespeare with Gardi Hutter and Carolyn Carlson, the festival will resume on 9 October with L’ultimo amore del Principe Genji (The Last Love of Prince Genji), a project created by the young Greek artist Marilena Katranidou and inspired by the story of the same name by Marguerite Yourcenar. An atypical ceremony on remembering and forgetting and an investigation into how sound can evoke long-buried memories.
