Teatro Due will premiere the new play Diciassette cavallini written for the actresses and actors of the Ensemble Teatro Due. Created in a year of work in synergy with Alberto Astorri, Valentina Banci, Laura Cleri, Davide Gagliardini, Luca Nucera, Massimiliano Sbarsi, and Pavel Zelinskiy, the play will be directed by Rafael Spregelburd himself. New production of Fondazione Teatro Due.

The performance is a reasoning about the future that, by reinventing the myth of Cassandra, extracts from classical history an unexpected idea of fun, in a first Apollonian and then Dionysian motion.

The overview of Spregelburd’s philosophical and profound, pungent and critical, yet tender and compassionate approach is completed by the staging of two shows produced with his company El Patrón Vázquez in Argentina and presented for the first time in Italy: Pundonor, written and performed by the ‘genius’ of Argentine theatre Andrea Garrote and Inferno, investigation into the painting of Hieronymus Bosch.

Spregelburd’s activity in Buenos Aires – like that of many exponents of his generation – is multiple and diverse: he is a director, author, translator and actor for theatre and cinema. Recently, he was appointed a member of the Academia Argentina de Letras, the first playwright to receive this recognition.
Founder of the company El Patrón Vázquez, his theatre is hybrid, mestizo and polemical; a work that eschews any fashion or label, which has earned him considerable international interest and numerous awards, including the Tirso de Molina (for La estupidez), twice the Ubu Award in Italy (for Bizarra and for Lúcido), the Casa de las Américas Award in Cuba (for La paranoia), etc.
Spregelburd is a commissioned playwright for major European theatre institutions (Royal Court Theatre, Deutsches Schauspielhaus, London National Theatre, Berliner Schaubühne). The collection of his plays includes more than thirty titles, translated into sixteen languages, and published in Argentina, Spain, Mexico, Germany, the Czech Republic, Italy, the UK, the USA and France.
